Police Investigate Former Seoul City Council Member on Fraud Charges for Unpaid Loans
The Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul has launched an investigation into a former Seoul City Council member, Mr. A, who has been booked on fraud charges.
Police have received numerous victim reports alleging that Mr. A borrowed money from local residents and other individuals but failed to repay it. They are currently investigating whether the financial dealings of the former public official have led to criminal activity.
Mr. A served as a member of the 9th Seoul City Council from 2014 to 2018 and had previously worked as a broadcaster. Having gained public recognition through his media activities before and after entering politics, Mr. A is known to have pursued lecture engagements after obtaining various certifications, including those for laughter therapy and recreation instruction.
