S&P Dow Jones Indices has approved the launch of 24-hour tradable S&P 500 perpetual futures products on the decentralized exchange Hyperliquid. S&P Dow Jones Indices has officially authorized Trade[XYZ] to launch derivative products in the form of perpetual contracts tracking the S&P 500 index on Hyperliquid.

This approval allows non-US investors to invest in the leading US index within a blockchain-based on-chain environment, irrespective of stock market closing hours. The product is designed to enable non-US investors to gain year-round index exposure through leverage.

Cameron Drinkwater, Chief Product and Operations Officer at S&P Dow Jones Indices, stated, "We believe digital-native investors demand institutional-grade standards, and we are pleased to deliver this with Trade[XYZ]."

Hyperliquid, a crypto-native decentralized derivatives exchange (DEX), emphasizes its strength in continuous on-chain trade execution and settlement. This allows it to absorb investment demand driven by market volatility, even during periods when traditional markets are closed, such as weekends, thereby boosting trading volume. Its features also include low barriers to entry, with anyone able to start trading without requiring a Know Your Customer (KYC) process.

The news of the S&P 500 perpetual contract approval aligns with the broader trend of tokenizing real-world assets and enabling 24-hour trading within the traditional finance sector. Moves toward tokenization and the development of 24-hour trading platforms are also being observed from entities like BlackRock and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

Amidst these developments, Hyperliquid's native token HYPE saw approximately a 6% increase against the dollar over a 24-hour period on the day the approval news broke, trading around $43, reflecting market interest. Trade[XYZ] is focused on building the necessary infrastructure for real-world asset-linked products, such as tokenized commodities, to operate on decentralized exchanges.
