Seoul Metropolitan Area Sees Continued Rise in Apartment Prices
Korea Real Estate Board announced on the 19th that its 'Weekly National Apartment Price Trends for the 3rd Week of March 2026 (as of March 16)' showed a 0.02% increase in national apartment sale prices compared to the previous week, and a 0.09% rise in rental prices.
Sale prices for apartments in the Seoul metropolitan area and Seoul itself increased by 0.05% each, while prices in provincial areas recorded 0.00%, indicating a standstill. Apartment sale prices in Gyeonggi Province rose by 0.06%, and Incheon saw a 0.00% change.
In Seoul's northern districts, areas like Jung-gu (0.2%) and Seongbuk-gu (0.2%) saw price increases, while Yongsan-gu (-0.08%) and Seongdong-gu (-0.01%) experienced declines. In the southern districts, Yeongdeungpo-gu (0.15%) and Yangcheon-gu (0.14%) posted gains, whereas Songpa-gu (-0.16%) and Seocho-gu (-0.15%) saw prices fall.
Rental prices in the Seoul metropolitan area increased by 0.12%. Seoul (0.13%), Gyeonggi Province (0.12%), and Incheon (0.1%) all saw increases, exceeding the national average rise of 0.09%.
Rental prices in provincial areas rose by 0.06%. Sejong (0.24%), Ulsan (0.15%), Busan (0.12%), and North Jeolla Province (0.11%) saw price hikes, while Jeju declined by 0.04%.
