The Weekly Dangjin Times newspaper and the Korea Press Foundation held a company-wide training session on the 18th at the Dangjin Times office, themed 'The AI Era: Principles and Application of Article Writing.' The session focused on examining the fundamental principles of article writing in light of AI technology's spread, exploring practical applications of generative AI, and understanding the latest technological trends.

Instructor Min Byeong-rae, a citizen reporter for OhmyNews who led the lecture, introduced AI usage methods, centering on case studies from his own writing projects. Instructor Min explained that AI can be usefully applied to tasks such as data classification and organizing key individuals.

Instructor Min Byeong-rae cautioned against blindly trusting AI-generated information, emphasizing the risks of the 'hallucination' phenomenon where AI plausibly fabricates incorrect information. He stressed that human journalists must always re-verify original sources for citations and provenance, underscoring the reporter's role in viewing AI advancements within a structural context, conducting accurate verification, and maintaining their own unique voice.
