Democratic Party's Gyeonggi Governor Primary Heats Up: Kim Dong-yeon, Choo Mi-ae, Han Jun-ho in Three-Way Race with 10 Days to Go

The main primary to select the Democratic Party's candidate for Gyeonggi Province Governor will be held from April 5 to 7, featuring candidates Kim Dong-yeon, Choo Mi-ae, and Han Jun-ho. The main primary will determine the final candidate by combining votes from registered party members and opinion polls at 50% each. If no candidate secures a majority, a run-off vote between the top two candidates will be conducted from April 15 to 17.

Candidate Kim Dong-yeon is highlighting his competitiveness for the general election, based on 'public sentiment,' by recording 34% in a suitability survey for Gyeonggi Province Governor targeting general voters. Candidate Choo Mi-ae surpassed Kim in a survey targeting Democratic Party supporters, earning 40%, and has resigned from her position as Chair of the Legislation and Judiciary Committee to consolidate 'party loyalty.'
