Russia Warns of Retaliation Over South Korean Arms Support for Ukraine

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko stated on the 28th (local time) that Moscow would take 'retaliatory measures' if South Korea supports Ukraine with lethal weapons. In an interview with TASS, Rudenko said that Russia has consistently conveyed its principled stance through various channels to South Korea, stating that it cannot tolerate South Korea's direct or indirect involvement in supplying lethal weapons to Ukraine.

He mentioned the 'Prioritized Support Request List (PURL)' led by the U.S. and others, explaining that any provision of lethal weapons to Ukraine by South Korea through this framework would also be subject to retaliatory measures.

Rudenko added that if these warnings are not heeded, relations between Russia and South Korea would inevitably suffer severe damage, and Russia would be forced to resort to retaliatory actions.
