Financial Regulator to Boost Complaint Handling Efficiency with Naver AI

The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) is moving to enhance the efficiency of its complaint handling operations by introducing Naver's artificial intelligence (AI) model, 'HyperCLOVA X,' into its internal systems.

This marks the first instance of a financial regulatory body utilizing next-generation AI technology for its internal operations. It is also the first time such a regulator is adopting generative AI.

The FSS plans to install Naver's proprietary large language model (LLM) on its internal work network.

The AI will be trained on various complaint data to perform functions such as drafting response letters, searching for similar complaints and legal precedents, and assisting in assigning cases to relevant departments. The AI is expected to be used exclusively for internal work support.

The AI is slated for introduction as early as the end of this year or early next year. An FSS official stated that there will be no security issues as it will be built internally.
