North Korean leader Kim Jong Un inspected a welfare facility with his daughter Kim Ju Ae. On April 3rd, Kim visited the service facility in the Phase 4 section of Hwaseong District, which is set to open, and provided on-site guidance.

Ahead of the April 15 birthday of Chairman Kim Il Sung, North Korea is creating a commemorative atmosphere by successively opening various events such as the 'April 15 Commemorative Film Screening Week' and the 'Central Art Exhibition'. This was reported by the Korean Central News Agency on the 10th. The term 'Sun Festival,' which was once designated and elevated as the biggest holiday commemorating Kim Il Sung's birthday, is no longer being prominently featured. North Korean media outlets are using expressions like 'April 15,' 'A meaningful April holiday,' and 'The 114th anniversary of Comrade Kim Il Sung's birth' instead of 'Sun Festival.'

The background for this change is being discussed as a move to reshape the symbols of the Kim Jong Un regime. It is analyzed as a signal to redesign the legitimacy of the Kim Jong Un system, with Kim Jong Un intending to somewhat lower the idolization of his predecessors and highlight his own authority.
