US Military Transits Strait of Hormuz Without Consulting Iran
Several US military vessels transited the Strait of Hormuz on the 11th (local time) without coordination with Iran, US online outlet Axios reported. US online outlet Axios explained that this move was the first transit by US warships through the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the conflict.
Axios, citing sources, stated that the operation was aimed at increasing confidence for commercial vessels transiting the strait, and that it coincided with peace talks between the two sides that began in Pakistan.
Meanwhile, Iranian semi-official news agency Nournews reported that US destroyers turned back due to the Iranian military's response.
