Israel Katz: Transferring Iranian Uranium Abroad Condition for Ending Military Operations
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on the 14th, local time, that military operations can only conclude if Iran's enriched uranium is transferred out of the country.
Katz assessed that Iran's nuclear program and nuclear weapons manufacturing capabilities have been virtually destroyed by the past war and recent military operations, explaining that the remaining issue is enriched uranium.
Iran resumed uranium enrichment after withdrawing from the nuclear deal in 2018 and is reportedly in possession of approximately 440 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60% concentration. Reports indicate that the U.S. is demanding the full export of enriched uranium in negotiations for ending hostilities, while Iran is insisting on domestic dilution as a condition for lifting sanctions against it.
