Ulsan Education Chief Cheon Chang-soo Delivers Memorial Message Ahead of 12th Anniversary of Sewol Disaster

On April 15, one day before the 12th anniversary of the Sewol Ferry Disaster, the Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education held a memorial event to honor the victims and reflect on the importance of a safe society. The event was organized to remember the sorrowful history that must not be forgotten and to heighten awareness of safety, ensuring such a tragedy never happens again.

Ulsan Superintendent of Education Cheon Chang-soo, along with senior officials and labor union representatives, attended the event, observing a moment of silence to mourn the victims.

The Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education displayed a banner on the exterior wall of its headquarters with the message, 'Always Remember, Spring Beyond Longing.' A memorial card news piece was also created and shared on social media. A boat-shaped sculpture made of 304 yellow ribbons was exhibited inside the event venue.
