Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, demanded an official apology from the People Power Party on the 15th, accusing them of falsely spreading 'gangster involvement' allegations. Lee posted a message on his X account that day, urging an apology and claiming that the People Power Party's dissemination of the 'Lee Jae-myung gangster involvement' claims as if they were true contributed to their presidential election victory.

Lee recalled that he lost the election by a margin of 0.73 percentage points, stating that the presidential election results would have been different if not for the 'gangster involvement' rumors. He added that he awaits a sincere apology from the People Power Party for changing the election results by spreading these allegations.

Lee pointed out that Jang Young-ha, a lawyer affiliated with the People Power Party who had asserted the 'gangster involvement' allegations against him, had his conviction for spreading false information finalized by the Supreme Court on the 12th. Lee stated that the party should at least express regret over this matter.
