Trump Invited by Potential New CNN Owner

U.S. President Donald Trump has received an invitation from a potential buyer of CNN and is scheduled to attend a dinner on the 23rd to receive an honor. This comes two days before Trump's first attendance at the White House Correspondents' Dinner as president.

Paramount CEO David Ellison will host a dinner on April 23rd at the Donald J. Trump Institute for Peace, honoring the 'Trump Administration and CBS White House Correspondents'. Ellison is currently pursuing the $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), and if the deal is successful, he would oversee WBD's media business, including CNN.

Trump has called for new leadership at CNN as Paramount participates in the bidding for WBD. Ellison's father, Oracle founder Larry Ellison, is financially backing Paramount's acquisition and is known as a key supporter of President Trump.
