U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor has withdrawn her remarks about a fellow justice and publicly apologized. The incident drew attention to internal dynamics within the nation's highest court.

Justice Sotomayor previously stated during a lecture at the University of Kansas School of Law, without naming Justice Brett Kavanaugh, that he did not understand the real-world impact of immigration enforcement operations resumed in Los Angeles last year on workers. She noted that Justice Kavanaugh wrote in a concurring opinion on the emergency appeal case 'Noem v. Perdomo,' filed by the Trump administration, "this is merely a temporary pause," and Justice Sotomayor had filed a dissenting opinion in that case.

Justice Sotomayor stated she regretted her remarks about a fellow justice, calling them 'hurtful'. Justice Sotomayor added that her 'life experience' taught her to think more broadly and see what others do not.
