Samsung Electronics Files Complaint Against Employee Over 20,000 Personal Data Records Breach

Samsung Electronics has filed a complaint with investigative authorities against an employee suspected of exploiting the company's internal security system to unlawfully collect employee personal information and provide it to a third party. It was detected that the employee accessed the company's work site approximately 20,000 times for about an hour, viewing personal information.

The investigation found that the employee used an automated repetitive program, known as a 'macro,' to collect personal information such as employee names, departments, and intranet IDs. The collected information was then transferred in file format to an internal third party.

Samsung Electronics informed employees of this incident through an internal announcement.
