Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, has refuted US President Donald Trump's optimistic remarks regarding negotiations, calling them 'false.' In a social media post on the 17th, Ghalibaf pointed out that President Trump's claims were false and criticized that no results could be achieved in war or negotiations through lies.

Ghalibaf also stated that passage through the Strait of Hormuz is conditional. He warned, "If the (US military's) blockade continues, the Strait of Hormuz will not remain open," adding that passage through the strait would be made in accordance with 'designated routes' and 'Iran's approval.'

These remarks came shortly after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced the full allowance of commercial vessel passage through the Strait of Hormuz. US President Donald Trump welcomed this, claiming Iran had agreed to everything.
