Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon was officially confirmed as the People Power Party's candidate for Seoul Mayor on the 18th, setting the stage for his bid for a fifth term.

In the primary results announced on the 18th, Mayor Oh was elected the party's final candidate, having defeated incumbent lawmaker Park Soo-min and former lawmaker Yoon Hee-sook. Park Deok-heum, the People Power Party's Central Nomination Committee chairman, announced at a briefing that Oh's victory was confirmed, with results from the delegate vote held on the 16th-17th and a general public opinion poll each carrying 50% weight. Both Yoon Hee-sook and Park Soo-min immediately expressed their acceptance of the results and pledged their support for Mayor Oh, stating it was 'time to unite as one team to win.'

Born in 1961, Mayor Oh was first elected Seoul Mayor in 2006 and successfully served a second term, but stepped away from frontline politics for 10 years after resigning during a 2011 referendum on free school meals. He returned to the mayoral office after winning a by-election in 2021 and secured a fourth term by winning re-election in 2022.

With his nomination secured, Mayor Oh will face Jung Won-oh, the former Seongdong District Mayor who was confirmed as the Democratic Party's Seoul mayoral candidate, in the general election.
