Following the collapse of the first round of negotiations, attention is focused on whether future talks will resume as Iran reviews a new US proposal delivered through Pakistan. Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) announced on the 18th (local time) that it is preparing a response to the new US proposal presented after the first round of talks in Pakistan on November 11-12 ended in failure. The SNSC is currently reviewing the US proposal but has not yet responded.

The SNSC stated that the reason for the collapse of the first round of negotiations was that the US side raised new excessive demands during the negotiation process. The SNSC explained that negotiations could resume if the US withdraws its excessive demands and presents proposals that are aligned with current realities.

A Pakistani military commander, who recently visited Tehran as a mediator, reportedly delivered the new US proposal. A Pakistani delegation, including Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, visited Iran on November 15, shortly after the first round of talks failed. They met with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and military officials to convey the new US message and plans for a second round of negotiations.
