PPP Cheongju Mayoral Primary Results for Seo Seung-woo, Lee Wook-hee Imminent

The People Power Party (PPP) will announce the results of its preliminary primary to select its Cheongju mayoral candidate on the 20th. The PPP's Cheongju mayoral race is proceeding with a preliminary primary among non-incumbent candidates, followed by a runoff against the incumbent mayor.

Seo Seung-woo, former head of the North Chungcheong Provincial Chapter, and Lee Wook-hee, former North Chungcheong Provincial Assembly member, participated in the preliminary primary. Seo Seung-woo, an administrative expert with experience in high-level positions at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and as a presidential secretary for local administration, presented 'Restoration of 10 Rights for Cheongju Citizens' as his pledge, emphasizing change for Cheongju through budget securing and policy execution. Lee Wook-hee, who has experience as a provincial assembly member, highlighted his strength as a 'young laborer' and former SK Hynix employee, possessing deep knowledge of large corporations, and presented 'Creating Cheongju as the No. 1 Hub for Advanced Industries' as his pledge. He pointed to his ability to garner support from labor and youth demographics, where conservative support is weak, as a key advantage.

Meanwhile, Democratic Party candidate Lee Jang-seop announced his intention to form a 'one team' with his primary rivals and secure victory through the acceptance and refinement of their campaign pledges. Lee Jang-seop stated that the Democratic Party's operation as a unified team would serve as an opportunity to create high expectations among citizens.
