Three ships attacked in Strait of Hormuz

It was reported on the 22nd that Iran attacked three ships and seized two in the Strait of Hormuz. The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) stated that an Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) warship caused serious damage to the bridge of a container ship in waters near Oman. Another cargo ship was also attacked, but its crew were all reported safe and the vessel sustained no damage.

Iranian media reported that the IRGC seized two ships, MSC Francesca and Epaminodes, in the Strait of Hormuz and is towing them to Iran. Iranian media also reported that the IRGC attacked a third vessel named Euphoria.

The IRGC Navy claimed that the two ships were operating without necessary permits and manipulated their navigation systems, threatening maritime security.
