Daegu City will provide relief funds of at least 150,000 won and up to 600,000 won per person to its citizens struggling with high oil prices. For residents in the depopulating areas of Daegu's Seo-gu, Nam-gu, and Gunwi-gun, an additional 50,000 won will be added, totaling 200,000 won per person. This relief fund is allocated from the national budget of 6.1 trillion won, with Daegu City receiving approximately 340 billion won.

Applications for the relief fund will begin on April 27 and will be processed in two phases based on income and social class. During the first week of applications, a day-of-the-week system based on the last digit of one's birth year will be enforced. Applications can be submitted both online and offline.

The relief funds can be used at traditional markets, neighborhood supermarkets, and small businesses with annual sales of up to 3 billion won. However, their use is prohibited at gas stations exceeding the sales revenue criteria and for online payments via delivery apps. The funds must be used by August 31; any remaining balance will expire.

An official from the Ministry of Interior and Safety's Local Finance and Economy Bureau stated that the distribution of consumer coupons last year had a positive effect on revitalizing local small businesses. Each district in Daegu will operate a dedicated task force to minimize confusion during the application and disbursement process.
