Prime Minister Kim Min-seok Stresses 'Talent' Cultivation as Engine for Regional Growth

Prime Minister Kim Min-seok on the 24th emphasized that 'talent' is the core of regional-led growth and urged cooperation among related ministries. Speaking at the 'Meeting of Related Ministers on Fostering Regional Talent Linked to Growth Engines' held at the Government Complex Seoul, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of policy linkage, stating that education and research must be connected to regional growth engines.

The government previously announced the 'Plan for Fostering Regional Talent Linked to Growth Engines' on the 15th, which selects three national universities as hubs for nurturing talent in regional growth engines and artificial intelligence (AI). The meeting discussed the plan to select these three hub universities and measures for inter-ministerial policy linkage.

The government plans to focus investment on the education and research of selected universities and link policies across relevant ministries going forward.
