Soundwith Pursues PCT Patent for AI Music Tech Optimizing Battery Material Processes

AI-based technology firm Soundwith has announced that it is pursuing an international patent application for its 'Process Score' technology, designed to enhance the efficiency of Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese (NCM) precursor processes, a key component for batteries. This technology converts various variable data generated during the process, such as pH changes, raw material input, and temperature, into musical patterns, helping to detect abnormal signs before quality issues arise.

In the Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese (NCM) precursor process, not only component and impurity management but also particle shape, sphericity, aggregation state, and particle size distribution directly impact the final cathode material quality and yield. However, a limitation has been the difficulty in intuitively grasping the real-time process of particle formation and dissolution in actual field operations.

Through this PCT filing, Soundwith will globally protect its methods for converting precursor process data into musical structures and its GSDI calculation framework. Won Hyung-jun, CEO of Soundwith, stated, "Process Score technology is a next-generation process monitoring framework that standardizes complex process data into an auditory language intuitively understandable by humans, helping to more rapidly judge precursors to yield degradation."

The company plans to expand this technology into AI soft sensors for secondary battery materials and non-ferrous metal processes, by linking it with spectroscopy, ICP analysis, and process sensor data. CEO Won Hyung-jun added that through the PCT international filing, they will preemptively protect core algorithms and industrial application rights, and pursue field verification (PoC) and joint development with domestic and international secondary battery material and non-ferrous metal companies.
