Pennsylvania Woman in Her 30s Arrested on Child Endangerment Charges
A woman in her 30s in Pennsylvania has been arrested on child endangerment charges while looking after a 2-year-old child. The woman has a prior conviction for causing the death of an infant while under the influence of drugs.
The incident began when the 2-year-old child was found wandering on the road outside the house without shoes. The child's mother entrusted the child to Ward around 6:30 AM. At the time, the front door of the house was unlocked, and Ward was asleep even after the child left the premises.
The mother later texted Ward but could not reach her despite multiple phone calls. Around 10 AM, police contacted the child's mother to inform her that the child was in protective custody.
When police arrived at Ward's house and knocked, Ward asked what was happening, stating she was the babysitter and had just woken up. When asked if the child was missing, Ward replied, "Yes, yes, but not my child." She added, "The child came to me this morning. It's a 2-year-old boy with curly blond hair."
