2026 Autonomous Manufacturing AI World Show Opens in Seoul
The 2026 Autonomous Manufacturing AI World Show, aimed at fully ushering in an era of 'self-operating factories (autonomous manufacturing)' utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) in South Korea's manufacturing sector, opened at COEX in Seoul on the 27th. This event presents the future development direction of the manufacturing industry and serves as a platform for leading domestic and international autonomous manufacturing companies and experts to showcase the latest technologies and solutions. This World Show comprehensively displayed core autonomous manufacturing technologies such as Physical AI, Digital Twin, Manufacturing AX, Smart Vision, Industrial Data, Intelligent Robots, and Next-Generation Motion Control.
In his opening remarks, Jo Young-hoon, President of the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement, emphasized that robots, combined with AI, are becoming key means for 'executable intelligence' that can independently judge and perform tasks. Ahn Kwang-hyun, Director at the Korea Technology Innovation Center (KITC), stated in his congratulatory address that the key to the spread of autonomous manufacturing and AI lies more in collaboration and connectivity than in the technology itself, highlighting the importance of creating an ecosystem that brings together manufacturing companies, the government, and technology providers.
In the government policy session, Director Ahn Kwang-hyun of KITC introduced government support measures by presenting the 'AI-Based Smart Manufacturing Innovation 3.0 Strategy and Support Policies.'
Companies such as Enesee, MechMind Robotics, UBC, IVEX, and WonPredict showcased the latest technological trends by presenting AI autonomous manufacturing strategies and new autonomous manufacturing paradigms based on collaborative intelligence. The exhibition zone outside the venue featured a variety of technologies including manufacturing AI, Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), industrial robots, smart sensors, digital twins, AI vision, and control solutions. Participating companies engaged in consultations with visitors, presenting implementation cases applicable to actual manufacturing sites and ROI-focused adoption strategies.
Amidst the structural changes in the manufacturing industry, autonomous manufacturing is no longer a futuristic concept but has emerged as a tangible competitive advantage. The '2026 Autonomous Manufacturing AI World Show' provided a venue to directly witness the flow of manufacturing innovation, spanning from AI to Physical AI, Digital Twins, and robot automation.
