Democratic Party Leader Chung Cheong-rae Kicks Off Nationwide Holiday Tour
Democratic Party leader Chung Cheong-rae has begun a nationwide tour during the holiday period. His first stop was a visit to the Pyeongtaek Port Maritime Traffic Control Center in Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province, early on the 1st.
This visit signals the Democratic Party's readiness to respond in a constituency where Cho Kuk, leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, has announced his candidacy for a by-election. The Democratic Party has strategically nominated former Saenuri Party lawmaker Kim Yong-nam for this district.
After his visit to Pyeongtaek, Chung will travel to Seosan, South Chungcheong Province, to visit a fire station and volunteer by serving meals to the elderly, followed by a visit to the Hongseong Traditional Market in Hongseong County, South Chungcheong Province.
In the afternoon, Chung will head to Jeonju, North Jeonju, to attend the opening ceremony for the election office of Lee Won-taek, a candidate for Governor of Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province. He is scheduled to tour other regions including Daejeon, Gyeongnam, and Busan throughout the holiday period, which extends to Children's Day.
