Verdict in Nana Home Invasion Case Due Next Month
The outcome of the first trial for a robbery case involving singer and actress Nana and her mother, where an assailant broke into their home, will be announced on the 4th of next month. Suspect A is accused of breaking into Nana's home in Acheondong, Guri City, Gyeonggi Province, on November 15th last year, threatening Nana and her mother with a weapon, and attempting to steal money and valuables. At the time, Nana and her mother subdued suspect A and reported him to the police. The Uijeongbu District Court, Namyangju Branch, Criminal Division 1, which is presiding over the case, will hold a sentencing hearing on the 4th of next month after questioning two additional witnesses requested by the prosecution.
Suspect A counter-sued Nana, alleging attempted murder and other charges. However, the police determined the act to be self-defense and decided not to forward the case. Nana's agency, Sublime, criticized the suspect, stating, 'The perpetrator has not shown a single instance of remorse for his crime and is perpetrating secondary harm by filing a counter-suit against the victim and persistently making false claims.'
The agency added, 'We cannot suppress our deep anger and regret over the secondary damages caused by the perpetrator's unreasonable claims.' 'The police recently reached a clear conclusion of non-prosecution due to insufficient evidence, officially determining that the perpetrator's claims are entirely untrue.' The agency announced that it has initiated legal proceedings for defamation against the perpetrator, deeming his actions as intentional and malicious secondary harm and false claims that continued even after a serious crime.
