Man in 50s Sent to Prosecutors on Suspicion of Murdering Acquaintance

A man in his 50s has been transferred to prosecutors on charges of fatally stabbing an acquaintance, a woman in her 60s, with a weapon. The suspect, identified as A, committed the crime on the afternoon of the 21st of last month while drinking with the victim, identified as B, at his residence in Seokjeon-dong, Masanhoewon-gu, Changwon.

Around 1:25 p.m. on the day of the crime, A called 119 reporting, "My finger was cut by a knife." Paramedics who arrived at the scene found B in cardiac arrest, and although she was transported to a hospital, she was pronounced dead. Police, responding to a joint response request from 119, arrived and arrested A at the scene around 2:10 p.m. An autopsy revealed B's cause of death was excessive bleeding from abdominal stab wounds, with evidence indicating homicide.

During police questioning, A stated, "I was drunk and have no memory at all." A and B were identified as acquaintances who met while hospitalized in the past, and it was revealed they had been drinking together daily for three days prior to the incident. Police stated that no motive other than A's intoxication has been identified.
