Public Opposes Granting Special Prosecutor Indictment Withdrawal Power (44% vs. 27% Support)

A public opinion poll released on the 15th shows that 44% oppose, compared to 27% who support, granting indictment withdrawal power to a proposed "fabricated indictment special prosecutor" being pushed by the Democratic Party of Korea. In the survey, 28% of respondents remained undecided.

The results were revealed in a poll conducted by Korea Gallup from May 12th to 14th, surveying 1,011 voters nationwide aged 18 and older.

By age group, 45% of centrist respondents opposed granting indictment withdrawal power. 27% of Democratic Party supporters also expressed opposition, and 30% of respondents who rated President Lee Jae-myung's job performance positively also stated their opposition.

The Daejeon City Chapter of the People Power Party held a rally on the 13th denouncing the 'Special Prosecutor Law on Indictment Withdrawal' and urged its withdrawal.
