Jeong Won-oh Pledges 2.5 Trillion Won Expansion for Local Gift Certificates

Jeong Won-oh, a candidate for the Democratic Party of Korea's Seoul mayoral nomination, announced that if elected, he would expand the issuance of local love gift certificates to a scale of 2.5 trillion won.

Candidate Jeong explained that this pledge is a policy aimed at easing citizens' living cost burdens and revitalizing sales in local business districts.

He added that a 10% discount would be applied when purchasing the gift certificates, and the purchase and holding limits would be increased.

Jeong mentioned that plans for securing the financial resources to realize this pledge would be detailed during the transition committee period and that he would proceed with the plan in conjunction with newly elected city council members.

This pledge is known to express the will to achieve two effects simultaneously: contributing to the actual reduction of citizens' living costs in an era of high inflation and revitalizing the local economy.
