Cheongyang County Mayor Candidate Kim Don-gon Denounces Chilgpsan Rest Area Purchase Favoritism Allegations as 'Political Attack'

Some residents have raised allegations of favoritism concerning the Chilgpsan Rest Area land purchased by Cheongyang County for 4.4 billion won. These residents have announced plans to file a complaint against Cheongyang County and the landowner with the prosecution.

Kim Don-gon, a candidate for Cheongyang County Mayor from the Democratic Party, who served as county mayor at the time, refuted these allegations, labeling them as a 'political attack'. Kim's camp argued that a mortgage of 3.6 billion won was registered on the property and that claims of a sale price of 1.8 billion won were a distortion of facts.

Kim's camp asserted that Cheongyang County calculated the purchase price after conducting an appraisal in accordance with the law.
