Democratic Party Accuses Incheon Mayor Candidate's Spouse of Omitting Virtual Assets

The Democratic Party (DP) launched an offensive on the 21st, raising allegations that the spouse of People Power Party's Incheon Mayor candidate Yoo Jeong-bok omitted 21,000 virtual assets from their asset declaration. This suspicion was initially raised by a media report.

The DP pointed out the potential violations of the Public Officials Ethics Act, Public Official Election Act, and Real Name Financial Transaction Act if the allegations prove true, questioning Yoo's eligibility for the mayoral position.

Yoo Jeong-bok's campaign team explained that the 21,000 virtual assets were an investment made on behalf of Yoo's elder brother, under the spouse's name, and constituted a private loan agreement not subject to reporting.
