Trump Delays Signing of AI Executive Order
U.S. President Donald Trump has delayed signing an executive order related to the launch of advanced artificial intelligence (AI) models. Speaking to reporters at the White House on Tuesday (local time), the president stated that he postponed the signing because he was not satisfied with certain aspects of the order.
President Trump emphasized his desire for the United States to maintain its AI competitiveness and noted that AI could create many jobs domestically.
The draft executive order reportedly included a provision that would require AI developers to voluntarily submit new AI models to the government up to 90 days before their release. This aims to establish a system where the government gains access before approved technology is made public.
