Detention Decision Looms for Former Presidential Office Officials
Court hearings were held on May 22 to determine the detention status of former high-ranking Presidential Office officials accused of misusing funds in violation of regulations during the relocation of the Yoon Suk-yeol administration's official residence.
Following the hearings at the Seoul Central District Court, detention warrants were issued for Kim Dae-ki, former Chief of Staff, and Yoon Jae-soon, former Senior Secretary for General Affairs, citing concerns over the destruction of evidence.
However, the arrest warrant for Kim Oh-jin, former Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, was dismissed based on the court's judgment that he has a stable residence and there are no concerns of flight or destruction of evidence.
