Campaign Vehicles' Illegal Parking Worsens Public Inconvenience

With the official campaigning for the June 3 local elections underway, the illegal parking of some campaign vehicles along roadsides is causing inconvenience to citizens. This issue is a recurring complaint every election season. In Jinhae-gu, Changwon City, authorities responded to the scene following multiple calls from citizens protesting the illegal parking of campaign vehicles between the 21st and 22nd.

During the same period in Yangju-dong, Yangsan City, a citizen pointed out on the Democratic Party's Gyeongnam Provincial Chapter bulletin board that a campaign vehicle was illegally parked between a crosswalk and the sidewalk in front of an apartment complex.

Local governments and police, upon receiving reports of illegal parking by campaign vehicles, primarily advise the vehicles to move. Often, no fines or penalties are imposed on vehicles registered with the election commission.
