People Power Party's Jang Dong-hyuk Criticizes Opposition Candidates in Incheon, Appeals for Support
Jang Dong-hyuk, standing election committee chairman for the People Power Party, visited Incheon on the 24th, advocating for the judgment of the Lee Jae-myung administration and appealing for candidate support. He conducted election campaigning in Incheon, considered a hotly contested area for the June 3 local elections.
Jang criticized Song Young-gil, the Democratic Party's candidate for the Incheon Yeonsu-gap by-election, stating, "He is a candidate who distributed cash envelopes at a party convention, was arrested, and now shamelessly re-enters politics. He is someone who went to a karaoke bar in Gwangju the day before May 18th and insulted the May 18th democratization movement." He further argued, "If you want to take down Starbucks, shouldn't you start by boycotting Song Young-gil and campaigning for his defeat?"
Following this, Chairman Jang visited Incheon's Gyeyang district, where a by-election is being held due to President Lee Jae-myung's election, to appeal for support for Shim Wang-seop, the PPP candidate for Incheon Gyeyang-eul. He is then scheduled to continue campaigning with candidates for the local elections, including Incheon Mayor candidate Yoo Jeong-bok, at Bupyeong's Culture Street.
