SK Chairman Chey Tae-won, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Discuss AI Collaboration
SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang met in Taipei, Taiwan, to discuss ways to cooperate on artificial intelligence (AI) technology. The meeting also served to commemorate SK Hynix's achievement of surpassing $1 trillion in market capitalization.
Building on their existing cooperation centered on High Bandwidth Memory (HBM), a critical component for AI, both sides further solidified their partnership for the expansion of the AI ecosystem.
Chairman Chey Tae-won attended CEO Jensen Huang's keynote speech at 'GTC Taipei 2026', where he observed developments in GPU-based accelerated computing, next-generation AI technology trends, and directions for building ecosystems based on AI factories and open-source models. This observation reaffirmed the importance of memory's role amidst changes in AI infrastructure architecture.
SK Hynix is pursuing a transition to becoming a 'Full-Stack AI Memory Creator' by offering integrated solutions that include next-generation technologies such as HBM4 and 3D stacking DRAM, going beyond simple memory supply. With a strategy to participate from the AI architecture design phase, the company aims to provide customized HBM and enhance AI system performance and efficiency.
