Han Dong-hoon Warns Against 'Prosecution Cancellation' Practice
Han Dong-hoon, who won the by-election for the National Assembly seat in Busan Buk-gap as an independent, warned on the 4th against the practice of 'cancelling prosecutions,' targeting Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party. While thanking citizens at Gupo Market in Buk-gu, Busan, on the same day, Han assessed the election result as a 'significant warning' to Lee and the Democratic Party. He stated, addressing Lee, "I told you we should ask the citizens how they would judge tactics like cancelling prosecutions throughout the election, and I warn you to accept that judgment." He added that his victory is a clear warning against the 'Democratic Party administration's spree of cancelling prosecutions' under Lee, and that he would now work to block this in the National Assembly.
Han evaluated this election as one where the public granted victory to those who sympathize with the direction of conservative rebuilding. He reported that, based on calls with many lawmakers, numerous individuals agree with the principles and cause behind the conservative rebuilding direction he has proposed.
He criticized the actions and words of the People Power Party's leadership faction, stating they lack dignity and must reflect and adjust their direction. Han is reportedly scheduled to hold a tea meeting with pro-Han Dong-hoon lawmakers of the People Power Party at the National Assembly on June 5.
