Cho Kuk, the leader of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, has resigned from his post, taking responsibility for the outcomes of the June 3rd local elections. At a press conference held immediately after a supreme council meeting on the 4th, Cho stated, "As leadership, I feel an immense responsibility for the election results," and expressed his regrets for failing to meet the public's expectations. He announced that he would step down as party leader and temporarily suspend his political activities.

While the Cho Kuk Innovation Party succeeded in electing proportional representatives, it did not achieve significant results in constituency elections. Lower-than-expected vote shares in some areas have raised questions about the party's potential for broader appeal.

Park Sang-soo, former spokesperson for the People Power Party, commented on Cho's resignation decision, calling it a "natural step for taking responsibility for election results." Sung Chi-hoon, deputy spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea, stated that "the party leader's resignation could be a significant turning point for the party's path." Lee Jun-woo, media spokesperson for the People Power Party, noted that Cho's resignation serves as an example of accountability for election results across the political spectrum.

With Cho's resignation, the Cho Kuk Innovation Party must now establish a new leadership structure. Discussions are underway within the party regarding its future operational direction and reform measures.
