Tesla has again postponed the schedule for the unveiling event of its next-generation sports car 'Roadster' to after August. The unveiling plan, initially set for early this month, has reportedly been pushed back to after August. Tesla executives had announced at a shareholder meeting last November that the car would be unveiled on April 1st of this year and production would begin 12-18 months later. Since then, the unveiling date has been continuously adjusted, first to late May-early June, and most recently to after August.

Sources indicate that the Roadster demonstration is expected to take place in Texas and will feature a SpaceX-jointly developed cold gas thruster, suggesting the potential for increased vehicle speed and lift-off capabilities. Tesla and SpaceX employees reported the initial demonstration results of this thruster system, known as 'A71', to CEO Musk in late April. Tesla also plans to release a SpaceX Founder's Series version of the Roadster.

The Roadster, first produced in 2008 and discontinued in 2012, became Tesla's longest-delayed product in its history. Following its second-generation reveal in 2017 and a projected 2020 launch, its release has been delayed for over five years. Tesla did not respond to requests for comment regarding the postponement of the Roadster unveiling event.
