Reform Party leader Lee Jun-seok has criticized the People Power Party's (PPP) demand for a re-election, questioning if it amounts to urging Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon to resign. In response to the PPP's call for a re-election due to issues with ballot shortages, Lee connected the demand to the mayor's position. On the 7th, Lee stated regarding PPP leader Jang Dong-hyuk's re-election assertion, "Are you suggesting Mayor Oh Se-hoon should give up his victory and hold a by-election in October?" He urged clarity on whether the demand was intended to elicit the mayor's resignation.

PPP leader Jang Dong-hyuk held a press conference at the National Assembly that day, calling for a re-election in connection with the ballot shortage incident. Jang said, "What the majority of the people want is to rectify this flawed election once and for all."

Lee's remarks reflect the ongoing political dispute, with one side pointing to problems in the election process caused by ballot shortages and demanding a re-election, while the other side interprets this as an attempt to replace the Seoul mayor and criticizes the move.
