Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Highlights Growth Potential of AI Era at SNU

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said that the explosive growth of the AI era is about to begin, and he is envious of the students graduating at the best time. Huang made these remarks to students on the 12th at Nvidia’s ‘Build-a-Claw’ event held at the SNU Haedong Advanced Engineering Building in Gwanak-gu, Seoul. It is known that over 1,000 SNU students applied for this event.

CEO Huang encouraged the students, saying, “You have tremendous opportunities to apply and utilize this amazing technology you hold in your hands.”

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang praised Korea’s excellent electronics industry, mechanical engineering, cloud, and AI technologies, calling it “one of the few special countries.” He also joked that he should be called ‘K-Jensen,’ citing K-pop and K-dramas as examples.

Huang emphasized the ‘spirit of innovation’ while introducing the development process of the first-generation AI supercomputer ‘DGX-1.’ He defined the spirit of an innovator as “creating something that no one asked for, and not losing faith even when it fails at first.”

After the lecture, CEO Huang presented students with gifts such as personally signed personal AI supercomputers ‘DGX Spark’ and ‘RTX Spark’ exchange coupons. Seoul National University President Yoo Hong-lim presented Huang with SNU’s team jacket and a replica of an old Gyujanggak map as souvenirs.
