Hyundai to Usher in Software-Defined Vehicle Era by 2028

Hyundai Motor Group is set to secure competitiveness in autonomous driving technology by unveiling 'Software-Defined Vehicles' (SDVs), which control all vehicle functions via software, by early 2028.

To facilitate this SDV transition, the group is strengthening partnerships with leading companies like Nvidia while focusing on developing core technologies in-house.

Park Min-woo, head of Hyundai Motor and Kia's AVP division, stated that internalization is a key consideration even when adopting external technologies. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang visited Hyundai Motor Group's headquarters to discuss expanding cooperation in AI and mobility.
