Cheongju Disabled Sports Association Faces Administrative Lawsuit Over Workplace Bullying Disciplinary Ruling

An administrative lawsuit has been filed over a reversed disciplinary ruling in a workplace bullying case at the Cheongju City Association for the Disabled Sports. The lawsuit stems from the fact that the employee identified as the perpetrator received a suspension, while the employee identified as the victim was dismissed, leading to a challenge of the disciplinary outcome through legal action.

Victim A (30) claims to have suffered workplace bullying for three months from superiors including Deputy Manager B (47), including verbal abuse, insults about appearance, and remarks about his family. On April 13, A allegedly shouted in the office and threatened Deputy Manager B by saying, 'Let's have a go at it,' and forced him to write an apology and read it in front of employees. The following day, A also shouted and threatened Manager C (47), who is accused of condoning B's bullying.

The Cheongju City Association for the Disabled Sports convened a disciplinary committee, which ruled that A's actions severely damaged organizational order and notified him of his dismissal on the 15th. Deputy Manager B, found to have bullied A, was given a one-month suspension. Manager C received a warning for allegedly condoning and colluding in B's bullying.

A maintains that the dismissal is unfair and has stated his intention to file an administrative lawsuit. The Cheongju City Association for the Disabled Sports held its disciplinary committee based on the findings of an external labor law firm and deemed the dismissal to be justified.
