Ruling Party Criticizes Yoo Si-min's 'Reconstruction' Analogy
Criticism has emerged from within the ruling party regarding author Yoo Si-min's metaphor comparing President Lee Jae-myung's outreach efforts to expand his support base to 'reconstruction without the consent of the existing base'.
Speaking at a press conference upon his return on the 27th, lawmaker Song Young-gil stated, "When times are difficult, the core supporters are those who remain firm and unite to protect the President." Prime Minister Kim Min-seok also criticized Yoo Si-min, remarking at a workshop for newly elected Democratic Party female lawmakers, "There are cases where the President is criticized out of an excessive confidence, as if they created the President. The attitude and mindset need to be more restrained."
Lawmaker Chae Hyun-il posted on Facebook, "The path the Lee Jae-myung administration is taking is by no means reconstruction that demolishes the existing camp. It is difficult to agree." Lawmaker Jeong Jin-wook labeled Yoo Si-min's remarks as "comedy" and criticized, "I never expected them to so nakedly confess their inner thoughts, believing themselves to be the Democratic Party's building owners and Lee Jae-myung to be the tenant."
Lawmaker Park Jeong described President Lee Jae-myung's unification stance as an 'expansion theory,' explaining that the President is 'attempting to expand his territory by building an additional structure adjacent to a three-story building, allowing someone else to add more floors on top or build another structure next to it.'
