Iranian Speaker Urges US, Israel to Implement Agreement
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, demanded that the United States and Israel abide by the agreement established through a memorandum of understanding (MOU). He stated, "If the US and the Zionist regime (Israel) do not fulfill their promises, Iran will resume commensurate measures."
Ghalibaf emphasized the necessity of expanding cooperation between Iran and Belarus and expressed hope that countries opposing American unilateralism would jointly respond through BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
The Speaker met with Igor Serdyukov, the Speaker of the Belarusian House of Representatives, who was visiting Iran to offer condolences for the funeral of the late Supreme Leader Khamenei. Serdyukov expressed his grief over the passing of the former Supreme Leader and condemned Israeli attacks on Iran.
Additionally, Ghalibaf held talks with Hu Wei, Vice Chairman of the Chinese National People's Congress (NPC), who was also in Iran for the same purpose. During this meeting, Ghalibaf criticized the United States and expressed his intention to strengthen cooperation with China. Ghalibaf asserted that the US pursues unilateralism globally and that Iran and China should closely cooperate in political and economic fields to contribute to de-escalation. Vice Chairman Hu conveyed his condolences for the late Supreme Leader Khamenei and pledged to further expand bilateral relations.
Ghalibaf also stated that Iran would not tolerate any interference from the United States in the Strait of Hormuz.
