The National Election Commission (NEC) estimated on the 7th that it would take nine hours to verify the June 3 local election ballots stored at the Jamsil Olympic Park counting station in Songpa-gu before transport, with costs projected to reach 50 million won.

The NEC disclosed the estimated time and cost while reporting on the ballot transfer plan during the National Assembly's special committee's second on-site investigation into the June 3 local election ballot shortage.

Regarding the verification measures, the election commission stated that the move was intended to resolve suspicions arising from the long-term storage of ballots in a temporary space. It also conveyed its position that the facility must be restored to its original state to ensure the Olympic Park Handball Stadium can return to its intended function.
