Counterpoint Predicts 24% Increase in Foldable Smartphone Panel Shipments This Year

Global market research firm Counterpoint Research released its quarterly foldable display shipment and technology report on the 6th. Counterpoint analyzed that the foldable smartphone panel market, following a period of moderate adjustment last year, will re-enter a growth trajectory this year.

Counterpoint projects that foldable smartphone panel shipments this year will increase by approximately 24% from last year to reach around 27.5 million units. Accordingly, related revenue is estimated to grow by about 48% year-over-year to approximately $4.4 billion.

The expansion of premium in-fold products by Samsung Electronics and Apple is driving up the proportion of high-value panels, thereby supporting overall revenue growth.
