Police Introduce AI Child Sexual Exploitation Analysis Program Nationwide... Shortening Investigation Time

The National Police Agency has introduced a program nationwide that uses AI to analyze videos of sexual exploitation. The program was developed during the investigation of a gang that produced and sold sexual exploitation material by hacking Internet Protocol (IP) cameras last December.

The police distributed the program to police stations across the country after improving its functions to reflect on-site requirements.

The new program replaces the existing method where investigators manually played and checked videos; instead, AI automatically identifies the presence of nudity and presents detection results as probability values. The analysis results are automatically generated as evidence documents.
