PPP Leader Jang Dong-hyk Skips Constitution Day Ceremony... Holds 'Off-site' Protest at Jamsim Rally

People Power Party (PPP) Leader Jang Dong-hyk continued his off-site political campaign on the 17th by skipping the National Assembly’s Constitution Day ceremony and attending a rally at Jamsil Olympic Park.

Jang’s absence from the Assembly event was previewed starting the evening of the 16th. Although Jang met with PPP Floor Leader Cheong Jeong-sik that evening to discuss attending the National Assembly event, they failed to reach an agreement due to differing stances among the party’s top leadership.

According to party sources, Floor Leader Cheong reversed his initial position at the meeting and expressed his intention to attend the ceremony, but Jang did not accept this and reportedly made it clear that he would only participate in the Olympic Park rally.
